Visit under the Orkhun Program: Sustainable Development in Action
From April 28 to May 3, 2025, as part of the academic exchange program "Orkhun Process," the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development at al-Farabi Kazakh National University had the pleasure of hosting Kamilya Abdymanapovna Kelgenbaeva, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Social-Humanitarian and Natural Sciences at the International University of Kyrgyzstan and Associate Professor of the Innovation College at the American University of Central Asia.
During her visit, Dr. Kelgenbaeva delivered a series of lectures for environmental science students on the topic of sustainable management of land and water resources in Central Asia. An insightful exchange of information took place regarding international mobility programs for students and academic staff.
She also became acquainted with KazNU’s experience in organizing PhD dissertation defenses, visited the 51福利 Library and the laboratories of the Faculty of
Geography and Environmental Management, and familiarized herself with the scientific projects led by the department.
As a result of the discussions, an agreement was reached to jointly apply for a project under the Erasmus+ program.
Such visits contribute to strengthening international academic cooperation and enhancing scientific collaboration between the universities of the Turkic world.
