SDG-4: A demonstration lecture on the topic: «The life and works of Dulat Babatayuly” and a demonstration seminar on the topic: «Reflections of the era in Dulat Babatayuly’s poetry and his dastans»

On February 28, 2025, within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 4 «Quality Education», a demonstration lecture on the topic: «The Life and Works of Dulat Babatayuly» and a demonstration seminar on the topic: «Reflections of the era in Dulat Babatayuly’s poetry and his dastans» were successfully conducted within the framewok of «Kazakh literature of the 19th Century» course at 51 Kazakh national university.
The event was organized by G. Berikkyzy, the first-year master's degree student majoring in 7M02313 – Kazakh philology, under the guidance of senior lecturer P.K. Bisenbayev and doctor of philological sciences, senior lecturer G.Zh. Bolatova from the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory; associate professor of the department of pedagogy and educational management, candidate of pedagogical sciences B.I. Imanbekova; and acting professor of the Department of General and Applied psychology, candidate of psychological sciences N.S. Zhubanazarova.
During the lecture and the seminar, the master’s degree student focused on the historical context reflected in Dulat Babatayuly’s works, his reflections on the fate of the land and people, as well as the civic voice and publicistic tone of his poetry. The seminar also featured a scholarly analysis of the balance between historical facts and artistic imagination in the poet’s dastans, along with the epic scope and character systems. In the seminar, the students conducted thematic and ideological analyses of the poet’s works and explored their stylistic and artistic features. Through group work, discussions, and creative tasks, the students articulated their viewpoints on the realities of the colonial period depicted in Dulat Babatayuly’s poetry. The seminar had a discussion-based format, fostering academic dialogue between the graduate student and the participants. At the conclusion of the session, the students shared their views on the relevance of Dulat Babatayuly’s work in contemporary literary studies and emphasized the importance of studying Kazakh literature from a historical and artistic perspective.
The lecture and the seminar contributed to the development of the students’ analytical thinking skills and supported the effective and meaningful implementation of quality education in alignment with SDG-4.
