October 21, 2024 the Senior lecturer of Chinese Studies department Nurzhayeva A.M. held a seminar for the teaching staff, where she presented several useful features of the chat GPT for foreign language learning. During the seminar, participants explored various ways GPT can be utilized to create interactive exercises, including translation tasks, vocabulary tests, and assessments of grammar and pronunciation. The teacher demonstrated how the AI can generate dialogues for conversational practice and adjust materials to fit different proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced. Examples of automatic answer checking and personalized test creation based on previously covered topics were also shared. Special attention was given to how AI tools can reduce teachers' preparation time and enhance the learning process through automation. In conclusion, the teacher emphasized the importance of combining AI-based solutions with traditional teaching methods to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
