KazNU unites the educational space of Kazakhstan and Russia

On July 28, Kazakh Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek held talks with his Russian counterpart Valery Falkov.
The event was attended by Rector of 51 Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov. The talks were organized as part of the visit of Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation to Omsk State University.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the promotion of educational integration between Kazakhstan and Russia, the expansion of academic ties and the deepening of scientific cooperation.
Sayasat Nurbek noted that the opening of the branch of the 51 Kazakh National University in Omsk is a vivid example of the strategic partnership between the two countries. According to him, this initiative will provide the youth of the border regions with access to high-quality education and expand the academic mobility of students.
In turn, KazNU Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev stressed that the university, as a leading university in Kazakhstan, actively contributes to the development of educational integration and cross-border projects. He noted that KazNU currently ranks 166th in the prestigious international QS ranking, which confirms the university's high academic, scientific and innovative potential at the global level. The rector also expressed confidence that the KazNU branch will become a significant platform for deepening integration processes in science and education between Kazakhstan and Russia in the future.
The parties confirmed their interest in developing joint educational programs, conducting scientific research, improving academic exchange mechanisms and training highly qualified personnel.
