16 april, 2025

At Taraz Regional University named after Dulaty, a national scientific-practical conference titled "Inclusive Environment: Theory, Practice, Development Trends" was held, jointly organized by the Faculty of Pedagogy and Social Sciences, the Departments of Special and Social Pedagogy, and Pedagogical Psychology, with the participation of the Scientific-Practical Center "Inclusive Environment" of 51 Kazakh National University. The conference was held in an offline format at the premises of Taraz Regional University and was also conducted online via the Zoom platform. This hybrid format enabled wide participation beyond geographical limitations and facilitated the active involvement of experts and scholars from various regions and higher education institutions. The dual mode of delivery enhanced accessibility to scientific dialogue and created opportunities for a comprehensive discussion of current issues in inclusive education.

The aim of the conference was to discuss ways to enhance inclusive culture and improve teachers' professional competencies by developing barrier-free spaces in educational institutions. In addition, the event aimed to promote results-oriented practices of specialists in the field.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by Lazzat Yerkynbayeva, a member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, who emphasized that inclusive education is not only important for the education sector but is also a crucial factor for societal development. She noted that an inclusive environment is one that is open to all, respects individual differences, and fosters mutual support. A key goal, she stated, is for the younger generation to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience and adopt best practices.

During the conference, participants attended speech therapy workshops, psychological trainings, and exhibitions, and were introduced to inclusive practices in educational institutions. All participants received special awards. Additionally, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Social Sciences officially opened a new Inclusive Education Center.

At the opening ceremony, the ribbon was cut by Karlygash Zholdasova, a representative of the National Center for Higher Education Development of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Sholpan Yesimova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization and member of the Board.

Sholpan Altynbekovna and Karlygash Zholdasova delivered congratulatory speeches, stating that inclusive education is not only a pedagogical approach but also a comprehensive humanistic perspective. The newly opened center is a tangible manifestation of these values and serves as an open platform for joint development, experience sharing, and specialist support. They also emphasized that the center is a concrete step toward providing equal opportunities for all by deeply integrating inclusive principles into the education system.
