Unity and Harmony — the Pillars of the Nation

On April 28, 2025, the Faculty of Law at 51 Kazakh National University hosted a festive event titled "Unity and Harmony — the Pillars of the Nation," dedicated to Kazakhstan People's Unity Day and the 70th anniversary of the Faculty of Law.
The event was organized by the Department of Customs, Financial, and Environmental Law under the leadership of Head of Department G.A. Kuanalieva, with the support of group curators A. Essekyeva, D. Bakirov, S. Zhapakov, B. Konysbai, and 1st and 3rd-year students.
The aim of the event was to highlight the importance of interethnic harmony and unity in Kazakhstan, to strengthen mutual respect and cooperation among different ethnic groups and cultures, and to showcase the unity of the country’s multicultural society.
The celebration began with the national anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, performed by all attendees, creating a solemn and festive atmosphere.
Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ualikhan Akipbekovich Akhatov, delivered a congratulatory speech, highlighting the achievements of the faculty over its 70-year history and emphasizing the importance of friendship among nations.
As part of the program, students dressed in traditional costumes of various ethnic groups conveyed warm congratulations in Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Turkish, Russian, Korean, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese languages, emphasizing the significance of friendship and unity.
The event featured vibrant performances of national songs and dances, uplifting the audience. A special highlight was the joint performance of the famous Kazakh dance "Kara Zhorga," demonstrating the true spirit of unity. Additionally, the audience enjoyed performances showcasing Kyrgyz, Uzbek, and Turkish cultures.
During the interactive segment, students participated in the “Unity Becomes Us” quiz, testing their knowledge and winning small prizes.
One of the most touching moments was the theatrical performance "Dostyk Dastarkhany" ("Friendship Table"), symbolizing the unity of different nationalities sharing a common table.
The event concluded with the performance of a traditional Kazakh kui (musical piece) and the song "Atameken," during which all participants, holding small Kazakh flags, sang together, expressing a collective wish for peace and harmony.
University leadership, students, veteran teachers, special guests, international students, media representatives, and members of various ethnocultural associations participated in the event.
This festive occasion once again affirmed the vital importance of interethnic harmony, friendship, and unity for Kazakhstan’s sustainable development and bright future.
