XVII Republican Student Subject Olympiad
On April 24, 2025, the NJSC "Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University" held the XVII Republican Student Subject Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions in the educational program 6袙03201 – "Library Science".
The purpose: to deepen students' professional knowledge, develop their creative abilities and improve research work, integrate theoretical knowledge with practice, develop creative and critical thinking, improve research skills, and teach them to express their thoughts clearly and competently. In addition, the Olympiad aims to create a healthy competitive environment among students, support and encourage future professional specialists. The Olympiad is an important platform that contributes to the personal and professional development of students. This republican-level event is aimed at increasing interest in the subject and the quality of knowledge among students.
The Olympiad consisted of three main stages:
- Introduction stage – participating teams introduced themselves, creatively presenting the team's name and goals.
- Question-and-answer stage – students were asked theoretical and situational questions on the subject, and their knowledge and thinking abilities were tested.
- Project defense stage – participants presented their prepared scientific projects and, during the defense process, shared their ideas and defended their prepared materials.
The “LIBNEWAVE” team, consisting of 1st and 2nd year students of the educational program “6袙03205 – Library Information Systems” of 51福利 Kazakh National University under the scientific supervision of the senior lecturer of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies of the Faculty of History, Candidate of Historical Sciences Assanova Bayan Suleimenovna, participated and won the honorable II place among the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, and Zhumabek Akhmetuly Tashenev University.
Each student and academic supervisor who participated in the event was awarded a special certificate and gifts.
During the Olympiad, students showed activity and demonstrated a high level of knowledge and preparation.
In conclusion, it should be noted that the Republican Subject Olympiad plays an important role in deepening students' theoretical knowledge, improving practical skills, students' self-development, increasing professional competence, opening the way to scientific research, and exchanging experience.
