On March 14-15, 2025, first-year PhD doctoral students of the Tourism and Hospitality specialty of the Recreational geography and tourism department, Saniya Kabdrakhmanova and Ilan Satkali, visited the “Visit Zhetusy” tourist information center () in Taldykorgan.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the deputy manager of the center, Meyrambek Kuanyshevich Kapasov, during which the current state and dynamics of tourism development in the Zhetysu region were discussed. Particular attention was paid to new challenges in the tourism industry, as well as to the events held by the center to promote the region as an attractive tourist destination.

Also, in the city of Tekeli, in the House of Culture, a meeting was held with the tourist guide Alexander Artyushchenko, the manager of the Public Association "Adventure Life", which is actively involved in the development of tourism in the city and its environs. During the conversation, issues of the dynamics of tourism development in Tekeli, analysis of tourist preferences, as well as prospects for the development of tourist routes were discussed.

This visit allowed us to obtain up-to-date information on the state of the region's tourism industry, identify key areas for future research, and establish professional contacts with representatives of the tourism sector of the Zhetysu region.
