The role of women in the Kazakh steppe culture

On March 5, 2025, the Central State Archive of Film and Sound Recordings of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a round table "The role of women in Kazakh Steppe culture", dedicated to International Women's Day. Purpose: to show the life of Kazakh women in the 19th-20th centuries as part of the implementation of the state program "Archive-2025". The event was attended by renowned scientists, historians, ethnographers, cinematographers, artists, teachers and students of the specialty "Archival Science, documentation and documentation support", "Digital Archival Science and Documentation" of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi. 
As part of the event, a screening of the 1927 Soviet Kazakhstan film magazine about the situation of Kazakh women and their adaptation to the processes of "collectivization" and socialist transformations of the Kazakh village took place. Also, within the framework of the Archive 2025, for the first time, unique photographic documents brought from foreign archives, in particular from the film and photographic archives of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Ethnographic Museum of Hamburg, were presented at the photo exhibition. For young people, the event is of great importance in shaping historical consciousness, patriotic, and spiritual education. The students were especially impressed.
