A meeting with graduates was held within the framework of the "Quality Education" goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 2020 graduates of the Department of Middle East and South Asian Studies, Smailov Adil and Badavlat Rumi, visited the faculty and met with students. Adil Smailov is the assistant executive director of the Zarukh Mining Company in Iran, and Badavlat Rumi is the commercial manager of the company. Established in 2003, Zarukh Mining Company is actively involved in gold exploration and extraction at the Sariguni mine in Iran's Kurdistan province. This joint Iranian-Kazakhstani company, which uses innovative gold washing technology, is recognized as an innovator in the mining industry. Adil Smailov and Badavlat Rumi shared how they learned Persian, discussed their experiences, and gave an interesting account of how they apply their academic knowledge and skills in practice. They also talked about their company, its production, the KazNU graduates working there, and prospective career opportunities for future graduates in the field of Iranian studies.
