The Problem of Poaching in Kazakhstan: How to Solve It?

An Educational Event on "The Problem of Poaching in Kazakhstan: How to Solve It" was Held at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine, and Neuroscience within the Framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
On October 28, 2024, the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine, and Neuroscience hosted an event focused on the pressing issue of poaching in Kazakhstan and possible solutions to address it. This event was organized within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aimed at creating a fair and sustainable society.
The event was attended by students and master's students from the "Biomedicine" program. The primary presentations were devoted to analyzing the current state of poaching in the country, its impact on the economy and social sphere, and examining international approaches to combating this phenomenon.
Special emphasis was placed on developing strategies to increase the transparency of financial transactions, strengthen the legal framework, and raise public awareness of the risks associated with poaching. Participants also discussed the role of education and scientific research in shaping effective methods for addressing this issue.
The event concluded with a tour of the biological museum of 51 Kazakh National University, where recommendations were formulated for government authorities and public institutions aimed at reducing poaching rates and enhancing public trust in financial institutions. The organizers expressed hope that the outcomes of this event would lay the foundation for further initiatives to achieve sustainable development in Kazakhstan.
