In honor of the celebration of the Republic Day at the Department of Biotechnology on October 22, 2024 at 10.00 a.m. in the 507 auditorium, senior lecturer M.A. Abdulzhanova and 1st year students of the specialty "Microbiology" organized a curatorial hour on the topic "National holiday-great day".
During the event, the history and significance of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the main achievements of Kazakhstan during the years of independence and the role of students and youth in the development of the country were discussed.
M.A. Abdulzhanova opened the meeting with a welcoming speech and told about the history of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated on October 25. The holiday was revived in 2022 as a symbol of the country's independence and unity. On this day, key events related to the sovereignty and development of Kazakhstan are remembered.
Then the Curator and the students discussed the main achievements of the country:
- The adoption of the "Declaration of State Sovereignty" in 1990.
- Economic growth and the position of Kazakhstan as a leading state in Central Asia.
- Development of international cooperation and initiatives such as EXPO-2017 and the peacekeeping mission.
- Achievements in the field of science, education and culture.
The students shared their opinions on how young people can contribute to the future of Kazakhstan. The issues of "volunteering", "civic engagement" and the importance of education in modern realities were discussed.
A small quiz on the knowledge of the history and culture of Kazakhstan was conducted with the 2nd year students. Students actively participated in the discussion, giving examples of significant events and personalities.
The result of the curatorial hour was an understanding of the importance of patriotism and active citizenship. The students expressed their willingness to participate in events dedicated to the development of the country and actively support initiatives aimed at improving society.
Following the results of the curatorial hour, it was decided:
1. To organize the participation of the group in city events dedicated to the Republic Day.
2. To conduct research on the topic "The contribution of youth to the future of Kazakhstan".
3. Continue to work on the development of civic responsibility and team spirit in the group.
