XII Republican competition «The best linguist»
ANNOUCEMENT
On April 17, 2024 Turkology and Language Theory Department of the Faculty of Philology of 51福利 Kazakh National University will organize the XII Republican competition «The best linguist» among students of universities in an offline format.
The main goals of the competition are to:
- increase the scientific activity of young scientists, undergraduates;
- arouse public interest in science;
- contribute to the expansion of the use of the Kazakh language in the scientific space.
Working languages of the competition: Kazakh, Russian, English.
Bachelor’s Degree students majoring in Linguistics, Kazakh Philology, Russian
Philology, Foreign Philology, Foreign Language two foreign language can take part in the competition:
GENERAL COMPETITION RULES
«The best linguist» competition consists of 2 stages:
1) the first stage is test (test questions on general linguistic knowledge, language theory, genealogical, typological classification);
2) second stage is homework presentation (presentation defense on «Digital Linguistics in Kazakhstan: Prospects and Development Directions»). The volume is 10-12 slides. The presentation should be prepared in accordance with the rules of presentation design.
