KazNU students among the best!

On January 14, 2025,  51 University students participated in an international TED Talks-style inter-university event entitled 'Does Health Care Lead to Well-being?' at  Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University (KRMU). 

The event brought together students and faculty from various universities in Kazakhstan, as well as international students, and fostered a lively discussion on the critical relationship between health care and overall well-being.. The aim of the event was to stimulate discussion on the relationship between health systems and general wellbeing, exploring medical, social and psychological perspectives.

More than 30 students from different universities: Kazakh Na­tional Women's Pedagogical Uni­versity, Adilet Graduate School of Law of Caspian University, KIMEP University, 51 Kazakh National University, ALT University and international students of Kazakhstan-Russian Medical Uni­versity.

The program included the student presentations; participants were required to give short, visually appealing 5-7 minute presentations, focusing on personal or professional experiences related to health and wellbeing. Presentations were judged on novelty of the content, use of personal insights, visual design, manner of delivery and overall impression.

9 participants of the TED Talks-style event were awarded Diplomas of the 1st, 2nd, 3d degrees. Among them were students of our university. The jury and the audience appreciated their deep knowledge in the professional field, excellent English language skills and practical ideas for the introduction of a healthy lifestyle. The presentations of the following KazNU students were noted among the best ones and were awarded with diplomas and prizes:

Diploma of the 1st degree - Moldanizova Diana, 1st year student. Topic: ‘Inequalities in health care: a barrier to well-being’. Supervisor: Manat Jamaldinova, senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages. , Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages.

Diploma of the 2nd degree - Akerke Zhakypkazy, 1st year student. Topic:‘The role of psychosomatic health in achieving well-being: does health care solve the mind-body connection?’. Suprvisor: Nadezhda Bershina, senior teacher of the department of languages.

Diploma of he 3l d degree - Zhanerke Zhaksybaykyzyzy, Topic ‘Health care of the future: learning Chinese language for the development of medicine’. Supervisor: Asel Shayakhmet, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages.
