In the period from April 02 to May 01, 2025 in the city of Ankara, Turkish Republic, at the Faculty of Literature and Turkish Folklore of Hacettepe University, in the framework of academic exchange and scientific cooperation, second-year PhD students of the educational programme «8D03102 - Cultural Studies» Khassiyetova Zh.Zh. and Bazasheva S.E. underwent a foreign scientific internship.

The main purpose of the internship was the analysis of foreign scientific and methodological literature, deepening of knowledge in the field of cultural studies, as well as the exchange of scientific experience with foreign colleagues. The programme included practical classes, scientific seminars and round tables, visits to libraries and state institutions, as well as individual field research.

Within the framework of the internship the doctoral students:

• Familiarised themselves with the faculty of Hacettepe University, the research system of Turkey and the internship base;
• Together with their supervisor, Professor Nebi Ozdemir, analysed foreign scientific and methodological literature on the research topic;
• Studied the necessary materials in the National Library of Turkey «Millet Kütüphanesi», which include more than 4 million printed books and more than 120 million electronic publications in 134 languages. Hacettepe University Library and «Ataturk Cultural Centre Library»
• During the field study, analysed the activities of public socio-cultural institutions corresponding to the topic of the study, such as: «Atatürk Kültür Merkezi», «Anasayfa - Anıtkabir Derneği», and the History and Culture Foundation of Turkey – «TÜRKTAV». Meetings were held with the heads of these institutions, during which negotiations on further scientific co-operation were held;
• Participated in the conference «Prospects for joint research on Turkic peoples of Russia and Siberia» organised by «TÜRKTAV» Foundation in Hacettepe University on 16 April 2025.

As a result of the internship, we broadened our professional outlook, enriched our scientific experience and improved our competences in the field of social and humanitarian sciences. The international scientific internship contributes to the strengthening of modern scientific and intercultural dialogue and opens new horizons for the development of scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
