On April 28-29, 2025, the XVII Republican Student Subject Olympiad on the educational program "B091 - Tourism" was held in the city of Turkestan, organized by the School of Tourism of the International University of Tourism and Hospitality. On the first day, creative and theoretical competitions were held: project defense, video clip and TurQuiz. On the second day, team and individual competitions in sports tourism were held: walking distance and captains' competition.
The goal of the Olympiad is to improve the professional competence of students, apply theoretical knowledge in practice, develop creative abilities, as well as strengthen the relationship and exchange of experience between various higher education institutions.
Based on the results of the Olympiad, students of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of the 51福利 Kazakh National Universityi:
- Took first place in the project defense. The team consists of Kazhygali Meirambek (team captain), Parimbai Meirkhan, Zharylkhasyn Perizat, Nurkaparova Nurai and Tolegen Ali.
- In the captains' competition, Kazhygali Meyrambek won the right to host the next Republican Olympiad.
- In the overall team standings, the team took third place.
The team leader was Azamat Beisakhmet, senior lecturer at the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism.
