
The Department of Turkology and Language Theory of the Faculty of Philology held an on the topic: "Kazakhstan is the Golden Cradle" on the eve of Kazakhstan People's Unity Day (May 1) and in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. The event brought together students and representatives of Turkic ethnic groups living in the country. Leaders and poets from Uzbek cultural centers in Shymkent and the Sairam region were specially invited to attend.
As an independent, multi-ethnic state, Kazakhstan places great importance on unity, mutual understanding, and tolerance among its citizens. A significant portion of the ethnic population in the country consists of Turkic peoples. Currently, about 600,000 Uzbeks live in Kazakhstan.
During the event, PhD Dr. Salimjon Ganiev presented on “Literary Friendship and Cooperation,” the head of the Uzbek Cultural Center Erkinoy Sultanova spoke on “The State of Uzbek Literature in Kazakhstan Today,” poetess Mokhida Yuldasheva shared reflections on Shakarim Kudaiberdiev’s work "Three Truths", and Kazakh language teacher and translator Lobar Yuldasheva gave a talk titled “Kazakhstan in Uzbek Literature.”
The guests shared thoughts on the scientific, educational, literary, and cultural life of Uzbeks in Kazakhstan. They also highlighted how the works of Turkic peoples in independent Kazakhstan carry on the spirit of ancient Turkic poetry as a spiritual legacy, promoting the national ideology of "Mangilik El" (Eternal Nation). The event concluded with Uzbek poets reciting their beautiful verses, followed by students performing poetry, playing the dombra, and singing songs in both Uzbek and Kazakh.
