On April 23, 2025, the Psychological Support Service held an event of psychological express counseling "Psycho Express" within the framework of the project of the Coordination Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Safe Environment".
The main goal of the event is to create a psychologically comfortable environment among students, provide psychological support to students, increase their psychological culture and potential, as well as exchange experience with specialists of psychological support services.
The event was attended by leading psychologists of the Psychological Support Services of higher educational institutions of the cities of Kazakhstan, including 51 KazNU, KBTU, MUIT, Almaty Management University, Astana International University, Karaganda Buketov University, Zhetysu University, Satbayev University, ALT University, KNK named after Kurmangazy, KazADI named after L.B. Goncharov, ASUE, KazNAI named after T. Zhurgenov, International Educational Corporation, KazNatWPU, ALT University named after M. Tynyshbaev.
During the event, invited psychologists conducted individual express psychological consultations for students, introducing them to such areas of psychology as art therapy, psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy, metaphorical associative cards, integrative dance and movement therapy, reliving therapy, neurographics and profiling.
As part of the Psycho Express event, a psychological seminar was held entitled “Gambling as a form of behavioral disorder in young people: modern strategies for prevention and psychological and pedagogical support”. The seminar was conducted by Doctor of Psychology, Professor and Researcher of the Department of General and Applied Psychology at Abai University Olga Tapalova, PhD student at Abai University, practicing psychologist Nurgul Suyundykova and Master's student at Abai University, psychologist Sanam Akhatova. The purpose of the seminar was to improve psychological literacy, exchange experiences, exchange theoretical and practical materials on the prevention and fight against addiction. During the seminar, Olga Tapalova gave theoretical information about the concept of "gambling", types of gambling addiction and their causes. Also, in the second part of the seminar, Nurgul Suyundykova and Sanam Akhatova shared practical exercises in emotion management, cognitive restructuring aimed at stress management and gambling prevention. At the end of the seminar, the participating psychologists were introduced to the functions of the online platform https://senim-kaznpu.kz/ of the Psychological Support Service of Abai University, and exchanged experiences.
The event was attended by about 300 university students, who received comprehensive answers to their questions, directions and unique methods from psychologists aimed at the comprehensive development of the individual. The event of psychological express consultations "Psycho Express" contributes to the popularization of the Psychological Support Service and psychology at the university, emphasizing its importance and usefulness for each student. The unique feature of this format is that it allows you to reach more students in less time.
