World Day for Safety and Health at Work: "REVOLUTIONARY APPROACHES IN THE FIELD OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH: THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AND DIGITALIZATION IN THE WORKPLACE"
At 51 Kazakh National University, 1st-year master's students of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development, majoring in "Environmental Protection and Life Safety" — Serikov Anuar, Koilybayeva Akerke, Mynzhasov Daulet, Utepova Nazgul, Nurbekova Zhansaya, Ziyagadil Zhiger, and Zhumabekova Aizhan — organized an international hybrid-format round table dedicated to the "World Day for Safety and Health at Work" under the guidance of the pedagogical practice supervisor A.K. Kozhakhan.
Teachers, students, and guests participated in the event.
Among the participants were the Director of the D.A. Kunaev Mining Institute, E.T. Uteshov; Deputy Director for Scientific Work, E.A. Shabelnikov; Scientific Secretary, A.A. Boyandinova; Head of the Industrial Safety Department, A.M. Kolotaev; and from the structural subdivision of the "51 Kazakh National University" NJSC, the Head of the Department of Civil Protection, Labor Protection, and Labor Safety, A.T. Maymakov; Deputy Head, M.A. Kadyrbaev; and Chief Specialist of the Department of Civil Protection, Labor Protection, and Labor Safety, A.G. Mukhametkarimov. The foreign guest of the event was a professor from Damus O. University of Haiti, an invited professor at Laval University (Canada), an associate professor at the University of Sherbrooke, editor-in-chief of the international scientific journal Anthropologie des savoirs des Suds, and an expert at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
The guests participating in the round table emphasized the importance of such events for students and master's students who have chosen specialties aimed at ensuring people's safety in the workplace.
In order to increase the interest of young professionals studying in this field in safety issues, engaging games were prepared. Students’ knowledge was tested and strengthened, and those who demonstrated resilience in the competition received awards. Winners were presented with special gifts and certificates.
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is not just a one-day event; it serves as a reminder of the need to develop a culture of safety in the workplace every day. The life and health of every worker are priceless values. Creating safe working conditions is a shared responsibility of the state, employers, and workers. It is our common duty to firmly adhere to the principle: "Occupational safety is the key to life."
