SDG 17: Partnership for sustainable Development. Meeting with teachers of Karakalpak State University

On April 21-25, 2025, teachers from Karakalpak State University visited the Department of Biotechnology as part of the implementation of SDG 17: Partnership for Sustainable Development.

The purpose of the event: To strengthen international academic cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of Biotechnology in the framework of the implementation of SDG 17 "Partnership for sustainable Development" through a joint meeting with teachers of Karakalpak State University on the basis of the Department of Biotechnology.

During the visit of teachers of Karakalpak State University to the Department of Biotechnology, a number of events took place, including a discussion of the scientific and educational activities of the department, including ongoing research, laboratory projects and innovative teaching approaches. An introductory tour of the laboratories and educational facilities was conducted, where the guests could see modern equipment and technologies used in teaching and scientific work. The guests also visited the state-of-the-art Laboratory of Cryopreservation of Germplasm under the supervision of Prof.S.V..Kushnarenko of the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, a partner of the Department of Biotechnology, got acquainted with modern cryopreservation equipment and techniques, and visited a modern greenhouse where rare and valuable plant species are grown. During the visit, the directions of joint scientific research, the possibilities of academic mobility of students and teachers, as well as participation in international grants and programs were discussed. Proposals for further cooperation were discussed, including the signing of cooperation agreements and the development of joint educational modules.

The event was held in an atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual interest, becoming an important step towards implementing the principles of sustainable development through international partnership in the field of science and education.
