At the Academic Council of the Faculty of Physics and Technology at KazNU, Onlasyn Imambek was honored on the occasion of his 70th anniversary. SDG 4 and SDG 9.

As part of the meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of 51 Kazakh National University, a ceremonial tribute was held in honor of Onlasyn Imambek, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics, in celebration of his 70th birthday.
Onlasyn Imambek is rightly recognized as one of the pillars of the faculty. His many years of work in nuclear physics, teaching, and scientific-methodological activities have significantly contributed to the training of highly qualified specialists and the advancement of fundamental science in Kazakhstan. He has also played an active role in shaping a research culture, uniting generations of scholars and students.

Dean of the Faculty, Nurzada Abdibekkyzy Beisen, delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the faculty, expressing deep appreciation for his outstanding contributions to national science, education, and academic mentorship. Active students of the faculty also joined in the congratulations, highlighting the professor’s personal role in sparking their interest in physics.
On the same day, the Dean presented letters of appreciation on behalf of the Rector of KazNU, Professor Zhanseit Tuimebayev, for significant contributions to the scientific and innovative development of the university and national science. The following faculty members were honored:
- Svetlana Leonidovna Peshaya — Vice-Dean for Research and Innovation;
- Bekzhan Amangeldievich Khaniev — Director of the Research Institute for Experimental and Theoretical Physics (RIETP);
- Daniyar Vakhitovich Ismailov — Leading Researcher, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Department of Solid-State Physics and New Materials Technology.
This event highlights the faculty’s contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
- SDG 4 – Quality Education: through the development of academic capacity and scientific mentorship;
- SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: through support of research initiatives and strengthening the university’s scientific infrastructure.
The Faculty of Physics and Technology continues to uphold the traditions of honoring its distinguished scholars, promoting generational continuity, and actively developing international and interdisciplinary directions in response to global challenges in science and education.
