The Holy Qur’an – A Legacy Through the Ages: Open Lecture and Seminar

In April 2025, an open lecture and academic seminar titled “The Oldest Qur’anic Manuscripts and the History of Its Textual Compilation” was held, focusing on the historical formation and preservation of the Qur’anic text.
Organized by:
– 1st-year Master’s student in Islamic Studies K.D. Nurgazy
– Supervisor of pedagogical practice, PhD, Senior Lecturer N. Mukan
The lecture introduced participants to the world’s oldest Qur’anic manuscripts, including the Birmingham, Tashkent, Sana’a, and Topkapi codices. The discussion included the preservation, textual analysis, and scholarly interpretations of these ancient documents.
The seminar offered an interactive platform where attendees engaged in Q&A and explored modern methods of Qur’anic studies. This open-format event sparked academic curiosity and provided new insights into the complex historical development of the Islamic sacred text.
