III Republican Student Film Festival of short films "Dura lex, sed lex"
On April 15, 2025, as part of the implementation of SDG No. 4 "Quality Education" and in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Law Faculty of 51福利 Kazakh National University, the III Republican Student Short Film Festival "DURA LEX, SED LEX" was held at the Faculty of Law, organized by the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminology. The purpose of the film festival is to improve the quality of training specialists in the field of criminal procedure law; formation of critical thinking; disclosure of creative abilities, strengthening the connection between theory and practice.
The Golden Owl Film Award ceremony took place in the 4th hall of the Faculty of Law.
The festival featured 13 short films made by 3rd year students of the faculty, and 1 short film made by students of Kunaevsky University. The films were evaluated in terms of clarity of the production of the suspect's detention, investigative action, compliance with the requirements of criminal procedure legislation, the quality of video shooting and editing, as well as a creative approach to the task.
The works were evaluated by a jury, which included teachers, invited law enforcement officers and last year's winner of the film festival.
According to the results of the film festival, the winners were determined in the following nominations:
"Best film" - 217 group;
"Best director" – 301 groups;
"Best female role" – 310 group;
"Best Supporting Actress" - 304 group
"Best Actor" – 302 group;
"Best Supporting Actor" - 307 group
"Best screenplay" – 308 group;
"Best cinematography" – 303 group;
"Best editing" – 309 group;
"The best production designer" - 304 group;
"The best music for a movie" - 216 groups;
Audience Award - 217 groups;
The audience Award was awarded based on the results of the Telegram voting, regardless of the jury's ratings. 217 groups won in this nomination.
The Golden Owl – 2025 went to 217 groups. According to the occupied places, the participants were awarded cash prizes.:
I place - "Golden Owl – 2025", award in the amount of 50,000 tenge.
II place: "The best trailer" – group 306, an award of 30,000 tenge.
III place: "The best poster" – group 305, award in the amount of 20,000 tenge.
The participants of the competition thanked the organizers of the film festival and noted that such events contribute to increasing motivation to study the science of criminal procedure, deep assimilation of the discipline's educational material and improvement of teamwork skills.
