Professional Development Course on “Evaluating the Resilience of Modern Cryptographic Algorithms”

From April 7 to April 19, 2025, a professional development course on "Evaluating the Resilience of Modern Cryptographic Algorithms" was held at 51 Kazakh National University. The course was organized by the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Training and Continuing Education.
The lectures and practical sessions were conducted by Evgeniya Ishchukova, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. Faculty members of the Faculty of Information Technology participated in the training. The total course volume was 72 academic hours, covering three core modules:
-
fundamentals of cryptography and methods of cryptanalysis,
-
modern attacks on cryptographic systems,
-
application of machine learning in cryptanalysis.
Special attention was given to assessing the resilience of cryptographic algorithms in the context of developing quantum computing, as well as to the practical mastery of methods for analyzing the robustness of encryption, hashing, and digital signature algorithms.
Participants worked on practical tasks, simulated typical attacks, and utilized the Python programming language and specialized software. The educational process included interactive formats such as master classes, discussions, group work, and individual assignments.
At the end of the course, participants prepared analytical reports and received certificates of professional development.
