The Official Opening of the Annual “Turkish Language and Culture Week” Took Place at 51 Kazakh National University

On April 11, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 51 Kazakh National University hosted the official opening ceremony of the annual “Turkish Language and Culture Week.” The event was organized by the Department of Turkish Studies and History of the East and the History of Eastern Countries, in cooperation with the Education Attaché of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye.

This important event attracted a large number of guests and featured a concert titled “Music in the Rhythms of the World: Turkish Music,” which introduced the audience to Türkiye’s rich musical heritage.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Ayhan Korkmaz, Education Attaché of the Republic of Türkiye in Almaty, and Mr. Gürdal Yekuş, Security Attaché of the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Almaty. Guests were warmly welcomed, with traditional Turkish musical instruments and costumes helping to create an authentic cultural atmosphere.

 The event was also attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Oriental Studies: Associate Professor Natalia  Em, Dean of the Faculty; Associate Professor Mirzakhan Egamberdiev, Head of the Department of Turkish Studies and History of the East and the History of Eastern Countries; Acting Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Department Agnur Khalel; and Deputy Head of the Department for Research and International Relations, PhD El’nara  Dulaeva. Faculty members and students from the Department of Turkish Studies and History of the East and the History of Eastern Countries were also present.

Students prepared a vibrant performance, reciting poems dedicated to Mother's Day in Türkiye and performing Turkish songs using national instruments.

In her closing speech, Natalia Borisovna emphasized the prospects for further cultural and educational cooperation with Türkiye, while Mirzakhan Egamberdiev highlighted the achievements of the department and faculty, underlining the importance of continuing successful partnerships with Turkish counterparts.

Mr. Ayhan Korkmaz also delivered topical lectures and eagerly answered questions from students and faculty members. During the meeting, future cooperation between the Faculty of Oriental Studies and Turkish universities was discussed, including plans for academic mobility and opportunities for professional development at leading universities in Türkiye.
