International Journalism Forum “Artificial Intelligence in Media and Communication” Held

Today, April 9, the Faculty of Journalism at 51 Kazakh National University hosted the International Forum titled “Artificial Intelligence in Media and Communication,” organized by the Faculty of Journalism.

The aim of the forum was to discuss the possibilities and prospects of using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the media and communication sphere, and to encourage future journalists and researchers to engage with new technologies.

The forum brought together scholars, media experts, and journalists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The event was moderated by Dean of the Journalism Faculty at KazNU, Kanat Auesbaiuly Auesbai.

The official opening ceremony featured a welcome speech from Akniet Yergeshbek, expert of the Information Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Vlastimil Samek, Head of the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan, also extended his gratitude and wished success to the forum participants.

The event featured in-depth discussions on the role of artificial intelligence in modern media, the future of digital journalism, and the intersection of technology and the information space. As part of the forum, a presentation was held for the book “The ABC of Artificial Intelligence” by KazNU Journalism Faculty alumnus Meirzhan Auelkhanuly. The author emphasized the importance of providing accessible and accurate information on AI in the Kazakh language.

Domestic and international experts, media professionals, and researchers participated in the forum, sharing their experiences. The forum was held in a hybrid format, with in-person participation and live streaming via the Zoom platform.
