SDG 4. CURRENT PROBLEMS OF LITERATURE TEACHING

On April 17, 2025, Bereke Dauletkhanovna Zhumakayeva, the  professor at S. Demirel University, Ph.D., a methodologist together with  the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of  Philological Faculty of the 51 Kazakh National University held a workshop on the topic: “Current problems of literature teaching”.

The event was attended by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science,  the lecturers of the department,  the young scientists and  the students. The moderator of the master class was  Ph.D., Professor Sarbasov Bolatkhan Sergazievich.

The aim  of the master class was  to develop the ability to understand the peculiarities of studying literature and literary studies in universities,  the theoretical and methodological basis of the use of innovative technologies in the study of literature and literary studies in universities. The event was also aimed at  practical application of advanced pedagogical experience and methods of teaching literature and mastering  own strategy  to study and teach  literature and literary studies. The honorary guest of the master class was Professor of S. Demirel University, PhD, methodologist Zhumakayeva Bereke Dauletkhanovna.

The participants of the workshop  were given the  lecture on the topic:  "Current problems of teaching literature." In particular, the speaker  shared her  experience on "Textual analysis in teaching Zhyrau poetry", "The relevance of teaching Abai's works" and the methodological difficulties encountered in modern literature lessons, ways to increase students' interest in the subject and innovative teaching technologies. After the lecture, the participants asked questions about the "Methods of teaching Kazakh literature" textbook  by the teacher-scientist, and an  exchange of views took place. In addition, the students read a literary collection dedicated to the work of the poet-teacher from "Kongil Naza" poem collection  and excerpts from his poems were presented.

 The spiritual part of the evening continued with songs performed on dombra, filled with touching moments. Akgul Aidarbekova, the  1st-year doctoral student specializing in Literary Studies, read  "Ustazyma"  dedication poem having produced a  touching impression. The participants expressed the words of gratitude for the interesting and useful workshop.

 Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy, PhD Sarash Konyrbaeva, Professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, PhD Yerzhanova Saule Baymyrzakyzy, senior lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, PhD Seisenbieva Elenora expressed their words of gratitude  and   wishes to the teacher-scientist and  wished her  Good luck.
