Gabyt Mirazov began his career in the prosecution authorities in 1992. Over the years, he held responsible positions in various regions of Kazakhstan:

• 1992–1995 — Investigator for especially important cases, Almaty City Prosecutor’s Office;

• 1995–1996 — Prosecutor of the Department for Supervision of Legality in Investigation and Inquiry, Almaty City Prosecutor’s Office;

• Jan 1996 – May 1996 — Deputy Prosecutor of Almalinsky District, Almaty City;

• 1996–1998 — Deputy Prosecutor, then First Deputy Prosecutor of Medeu District, Almaty City;

• 1998–1999 — Head of the Department for Supervision of Legality of Court Decisions in Criminal Cases and Enforcement Proceedings, Almaty City Prosecutor’s Office;
