Bridge between science and society: a collection of religious studies presented

On the occasion of Science Day 2025, on April 7, the Institute of Religious Studies under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented new collections of religious studies to the public. On this occasion, 2nd-year master's students of the specialty of religious studies and Islamic studies of KazNU participated in this event. The collections are a valuable resource not only for the scientific community, but also for practical workers, in particular, religious scholars, specialists in the field of ideology, civil servants, representatives of religious associations, those working in the media and education.
The new books widely address the issues of the relationship between secular principles and religious values, religious tolerance and interfaith harmony, religious inclusion and exclusion in Kazakhstan. For example:
• “Issues of inclusiveness and exclusivity of religious identity in Kazakhstan” – is dedicated to the relationship between religion and social groups in modern society.
• “Islamic Philosophy: Problematic Perspectives” – seeks to connect the traditional Islamic system of thought with the modern era.
• “Religion and Secularism” – analyzes the interaction of state policy and spiritual space.
The Institute’s staff, publishing collective monographs, aims to connect science not only with theoretical research, but also with public demand and social issues. These works are ready to be widely used as an additional tool in the educational process, in planning state religious policy, as a reference for information and propaganda groups, and as a high-quality source for media content creators. The presentation of the collective collections took place within the framework of the 65th anniversary of the Institute. This is not just a memory, but a new breath of religious studies. These projects proposed by scientists and researchers are evaluated as a real tool aimed at ensuring the stability of the religious situation in Kazakhstan and strengthening spiritual harmony.
