ONLINE MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF PAKISTAN: PROSPECTS FOR SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION

On 15 April 2025, an official online meeting was convened between the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 51 Kazakh National University Yem Natalya Borisovna and His Excellency Mr. Nauman Bashir Bhatti, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting served as a platform for the exchange of views on key areas of mutual interest in the fields of higher education and scientific collaboration. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral academic relations and identified a range of promising avenues for future cooperation, including:

  1. The advancement of the Urdu language as a medium of academic and scientific discourse, with an emphasis on expanding its scope of research and instruction;
  2. The facilitation of academic mobility through inviting distinguished Pakistani scholars and professors to deliver lectures and engage with students at KazNU;
  3. The establishment of institutional linkages with the Pakistani business community based in Almaty, with a view to fostering joint initiatives.

In particular, the discussion addressed the potential implementation of collaborative projects involving Pakistani entrepreneurs in Almaty, alongside the creation of internship, practicum, and employment opportunities for students of KazNU.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed a shared interest in pursuing concrete initiatives aimed at institutionalizing cooperation across the identified domains. This engagement constitutes a significant step toward deepening academic and scientific ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, and underscores the mutual aspiration to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based partnership between the two nations.
