NEOTÜRK: At the Crossroads of Centuries and Technologies

On April 7, 2025, 51 Kazakh National University hosted the International Scientific Conference of Young Turkologists titled “NEOTÜRK: At the Crossroads of Centuries and Technologies,” aimed at reviving the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkic world. Held in both offline and online formats, the event became a significant platform for the scholarly exploration of the linguistic, literary, and historical space of the Turkic world. Young Turkologists and leading scholars from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, and the Netherlands participated and delivered presentations on pressing issues in Turkology.

The conference featured in-depth discussions on topics such as Mahmud al-Kashgari’s Divan-i Lughat al-Turk, Turkic music, the study of written heritage, ethnolinguistics, and language identity.

In honor of the 1155th anniversary of 51 and the 950th anniversary of Mahmud al-Kashgari, a new center named after the prominent academic and Turkology scholar Abduali Kaidar — “International Center for Turkic Culture and Heritage” — was inaugurated. As part of the event, winners of the Abduali Kaidar Scholarship Competition were awarded for their strong academic curiosity and research potential. Scholarship recipients and the most distinguished young Turkologists:

• 🥇1st place — Asilbay Erkenur Anuarkyzy - 100 thousand tenges

• 🥈2nd place — Matieva Gyrmyzy Matievna - 70 thousand tenges

• 🥉3rd place — Kes-Ogly Angelina Aslanovna - 65 thousand tenges

In the section titled “Askar Kurmashuly Egeubaev as a Scholar of Medieval Monuments,” scholarships and certificates were also presented to students who demonstrated exceptional knowledge, research skills, and unique academic perspectives:

• 🥇1st place — Myrzagaliqyzy Nursézim - 100 thousand tenges

• 🥈2nd place — Imankulova Aiganym – 70 thousand tenges

• 🥉3rd place — Kes-Ogly Angelina Aslanovna - 50 thousand tenges

Such events undoubtedly serve as a driving force in promoting scientific research among the younger generation.
