The Role of Youth in Maintaining Public Peace and Stability

On April 11, 2025, Asel Madiarkyzy Ospanova, the first-year master's degree student in the "7M02312 – Foreign Philology (Western Languages)" major, conducted an demonstration lesoon for the first-year students of the "6B02303 – Foreign Philology (Western Languages)" msjor as a part of her pedagogical practice. The lesson was held under the guidance of Dr. Gulmira Kazybek, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, Candidate of Philological Sciences. The lesson topic was "The Role of Youth in Maintaining Public Peace and Stability." This event was dedicated to Goal 16 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions."
The main objective of the lesson was to increase students' civic engagement, encourage their participation in preserving public stability and peace, and develop their legal literacy. During the event, the participants were informed about important issues such as public consensus, the rule of law, justice, and the fight against corruption. The role of effective institutions within the framework of sustainable development, as well as the place and responsibility of youth in building a peaceful society, were also discussed.
The lesdon was organized in an interactive format. The students made a presentation which covered global and national practices of maintaining peace and stability, youth social initiatives, volunteerism, and ways to develop legal culture. During the discussion, the participants exchanged opinions on the active role of youth in public life, their personal contribution to creating a peaceful society, and their interaction with effective state and public institutions.
One of the significant moments of the event was when the participants shared their personal suggestions for maintaining peace and expressed their readiness to engage in active actions aimed at preserving public agreement and stability. The open educational session sparked great interest among students and took place in an active discussion format. The participants gained a deeper understanding of the values of peace and justice and realized the important role of youth in achieving sustainable development goals.
In conclusion, the event contributed to the enhancement of the students' legal and civic literacy and motivated them to actively participate in maintaining public peace and stability. Additionally, the educational session became an effective example of implementing educational and developmental work aimed at achieving SDG 16.
