On April 10, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 51���� Kazakh National University hosted the grand opening ceremony of the "SFG Korean Studies Conference Hall" with the participation of Mr. Jin Ok Dong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group.

The event was attended by university leadership, faculty members, students, and representatives of major financial institutions from South Korea. During the ceremony, Shinhan Financial Group awarded scholarships to students from the Department of Far Eastern Studies specializing in Korean studies. Additionally, Mr. Jin Ok Dong engaged in an open dialogue with the students.

Furthermore, the conference hall is equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia technology, enabling students and faculty members to deepen their studies of the Korean language and culture. University officials emphasized that this project will enhance educational quality and promote international academic collaboration.

This initiative aims to support academic research in Korean studies and strengthen cultural and academic ties between Kazakhstan and Korea.
