Internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan: The First Step into the World of Diplomacy

I, Alikhan Makhashov, am a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of 51 Kazakh National University. Recently, I had the opportunity to undertake an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During this time, I gained extensive insight into the key directions of our country’s foreign policy and its priorities on the international stage.
While working within the Ministry’s structure, I was directly involved in handling official documents, drafting diplomatic correspondence, and establishing bilateral relations with various countries. I also developed a deeper understanding of how governmental institutions function and contributed to analytical and research work.
Kazakhstan’s position in the global arena and its highly regarded foreign policy are of great significance to every citizen in terms of national interest and identity. Being part of this crucial sector and experiencing its inner workings firsthand significantly deepened my sense of civic duty toward my country.
I successfully completed the internship and received positive feedback for my responsibility and professionalism. This experience became a valuable learning journey and laid a solid foundation for my future career in international relations.
