Scientific internship at the National University of Uzbekistan named after M. Ulugbek and the Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances named after S. Yu. Yunusov

As part of the implementation of SDG-4 "Quality Education" and SDG-9 "Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure," aimed at fostering international cooperation, academic mobility, and the introduction of innovative technologies, second-year master's students of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Organic Substances, Natural Compounds, and Polymers – D. Medimanova, M. Hakimov, A. Kusainova, G. Ablaikhan, G. Tortai, and S. Amangaliyeva, enrolled in the educational programs 7M07203 – "Pharmaceutical Production Technology" and 7M07106 – "Chemical Technology of Organic Substances," undertook a scientific internship from February 10 to 21, 2025, at leading scientific and educational centers of the Republic of Uzbekistan – the National University of Uzbekistan named after M. Ulugbek and the Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances named after S. Yu. Yunusov.
The internship commenced with a warm welcome organized by Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Alisher Khamidovich Khaitbaev of the National University of Uzbekistan named after M. Ulugbek. He introduced the participants to the university’s key research areas and conducted a laboratory tour. During the visit, the master's students learned about advanced developments in the synthesis and study of chitosan-based polymer films.
As part of the internship, the students carried out scientific tasks aligned with their research plans. They conducted a detailed analysis of polymer film characteristics using physical research methods, as well as studied the composition of amino acids, vitamins, and flavonoids in plant-based objects. Additionally, they assessed the antioxidant activity of the studied samples, while microscopic analysis allowed for a more detailed investigation of the structure of the obtained polymeric materials.
The Department of Chemistry and Technology of Natural Compounds and Polymers, represented by the head of the department, G.S. Irmukhametova, and deputy heads Y.A. Litvinenko and B.M. Kudaibergenova, expresses sincere gratitude to the organizers of the internship – Dean Shakhnaza Abdukhalilovna Kadyrova and Professor Alisher Khamidovich Khaitbaev for their comprehensive support, valuable scientific recommendations, and assistance in organizing the work. The master's students note that the internship was extremely beneficial, productive, and contributed to the expansion of their professional competencies, as well as the strengthening of international academic ties.
