International Student Debate on the topic: “Environmental Issues of Cities in the Modern World”

On April 2, 2025, lecturers from the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, along with first-year students and master’s students from the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, organized an international student debate on the topic: “Environmental Issues of Cities in the Modern World” within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11) initiative.
The event was held both online (via Zoom) and offline, conducted in English. Students from Kashgar University (China) and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Kazakhstan) participated in the discussion, addressing critical urban environmental challenges and exploring possible solutions.
Participants highlighted the importance of international cooperation, enhancing environmental legislation, implementing green technologies, and raising public awareness about environmental sustainability as key measures for solving urban ecological problems.
