March 17 – “Culture and National Traditions” Day

On March 17, 2025, an advisor hour dedicated to this special date was held with students of the “Natural and Technogenic Risks” program.
Celebrating Nauryz – the Great Day of the People – has become a tradition in the form of a ten-day event, where each day is devoted to a specific theme. One of these days, March 17, is called “Culture and National Traditions” Day. Within this theme, ceremonies such as “Kyz Uzatu” (bride’s farewell), “Kyrkynan Shygaru” (the fortieth day after a child’s birth), and “Tusau Keser” (a ceremony of cutting a child’s symbolic ties) were discussed. The focus was on their content, historical origins, and ways to preserve and develop them in a modern context while maintaining their authentic essence.
The main goal is to promote the worldview of our people, their customs, traditions, rituals, beliefs, spiritual values, language, and culture. Special attention is given to reviving and popularizing this cultural heritage among the public and instilling respect for national values in the younger generation.
