Day of Promoting Kazakh National Sports

On March 20, 2025, in celebration of National Sports Day, the Department of Customs, Finance, and Environmental Law organized an event titled Sport is the Key to Health. This event was held as part of the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 3, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all. The main goal of the event was to promote Kazakh culture and traditions, modernize national sports, and foster a healthy lifestyle among youth.
The event was organized by the head of the Department of Customs, Finance, and Environmental Law, Dr. G. A. Kuanalieva, and senior lecturers S. M. Zhapakov and M. Umbetov. During the event, students actively participated in traditional national games such as tug-of-war, togyz kumalak, and asyk, which allowed them to familiarize themselves with the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people. These traditional games not only have entertainment value but also contribute to physical health, the development of team spirit, and strategic thinking skills.
The main focus of the event was to emphasize the importance of popularizing and preserving national sports as a means of developing sustainable habits that promote physical health and improve the quality of life for young people. The event also aimed to strengthen national identity and awareness by fostering the development and preservation of the Kazakh people's traditions in the field of sports.
