
On March 12, 2025, within the framework of SDG 4 "Quality Education", an open educational event on the topic: "Abai's Legacy is A Spiritual Value" was held at the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications. This event was organized by PhD students of the 1st year majoring in "8D02304 – Literary Studies" under the guidance of the senior lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of 51腦瞳 KazNU, Doctor of Philology G.Zh. Bolatova, associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Education Management, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences B.I. Imanbekova, as well as acting professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, Candidate of Psychology N.S. Zhubanazarova.
The aim of the event was to popularize the creative and spiritual heritage of Abai Kunanbaiuly, a prominent spiritual reformer whose 180th anniversary is being celebrated this year, to revive his timeless ideas on knowledge, science, and creative development among young people, and to foster a deep understanding of the moral values embedded in his works. The PhD students opened the event with their insightful and educational presentations on the topics: "Abai’s Code of Humanity" and "Metatext. Kózimnñ Qarasy". The students from the Department of Pre-University Preparation at 51腦瞳 Kazakh National University and the second-year cadets of the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications discussed the significance of Abai Kunanbaiuly’s spiritual legacy, recited his poems in Kazakh and English, performed his songs, and played traditional kui melodies.
As part of their pedagogical practice, the first-year doctoral students of the "8D02304 – Literary Studies" major Dana Kaiynbai, Alma Kenzhekhozhayeva, Ayazhan Toibazar, Arailym Almaskhankyzy, Eldos Ekpin, and Talgat Turdali actively participated in organizing the event. At the end of the event, a quiz on Abai's life and works was held, in which the students and the cadets showed great enthusiasm. In addition, the valuable books containing Abai’s wise words were presented as gifts to the most active participants who demonstrated artistic talent. Kenje Bazildzhanovna Atybekova, Associate Professor of the Department of the State Language at the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications, presented letters of appreciation to the PhD students who organized the event and expressed her sincere gratitude.
We believe that this event contributed to a deeper understanding of the system of spiritual values embedded in Abai's legacy, helped reveal the philosophical essence of his works, and inspired young people to follow the poet's moral principles and apply his ideas in their studies and personal development.
