Teachers of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development held lectures on the campaign "Taza Kazakhstan"
Teachers of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development conducted a series of on-line lectures for students and undergraduates of the 51 of Geography and Environmental Management, Chemistry and Chemical Technology dedicated to the campaign "Taza Kazakhstan". During the classes, the main goals and objectives of the campaign, its importance for environmental protection and the involvement of young people in the environmental movement were considered.
Special attention was paid to the role of educational institutions, in particular al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in the formation of an ecological culture, the development of the volunteer movement and the introduction of sustainable practices. The teachers emphasized the importance of students' active participation in environmental initiatives and the university's contribution to the implementation of the Green Campus program.
As part of the lectures, the Concept of "Taza Kazakhstan", approved by the government on October 31, 2024, aimed at improving the environmental situation in the country, was also presented. This document defines key areas of work, including combating environmental pollution, developing a separate waste collection system, landscaping and promoting an environmentally responsible lifestyle among the population.
In addition, the students were presented with the official website of the campaign – tazaqazaqstan.kz, we talked about its functions. The lectures aroused great interest, and many students expressed a desire to participate in upcoming environmental events.
