KazNU is developing medicine in collaboration with a Chinese company

The Chairman of the Board – Rector of the 51 Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, held a meeting with the General Director of the Chinese genomic company BGI Group in the CIS, Cheng Jun.
At the meeting, the university's leader informed the distinguished guest about KazNU's ties with Chinese universities. "51 Kazakh National University places special emphasis on expanding cooperation with Chinese universities and research institutes. A branch of the Northwestern Polytechnical University of China operates at our university. We have also established joint research centers, laboratories, and are conducting research work. KazNU has 16 faculties. In this context, we are ready to develop cooperation with BGI Group in various fields", - said Zhanseit Tuimebayev.
For his part, Cheng Jun noted that BGI Group is always ready to establish partnership relations with KazNU. "BGI Group conducts research in the fields of healthcare and agriculture. 51 Kazakh National University has a medical faculty. We are interested in deepening cooperation with the university in the field of medicine. There is a great opportunity to send students to our company through the academic mobility program for internships. Strengthening scientific ties is important for us", - said Cheng Jun.
During the negotiations, the parties agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with the aim of further establishing a partnership.
