Sustainable development without corruption
As part of the educational work, on February 26, 2025, the supervisor, K.K. Khamitova, conducted a curatorial hour for students of the 2nd year of the Ecology Course on the topic "Fighting corruption". The fight against corruption is directly linked to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 16 – "Peace, justice and effective institutions".
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the impact of corruption on the environment and education. Cases of illegal use of natural resources, violation of environmental legislation, as well as the importance of transparency and honesty in scientific research and the educational process were discussed. The students reviewed examples of anti-corruption initiatives in the field of environmental protection and discussed the role of environmentalists in preventing corruption risks.
It was also emphasized that corruption seriously hinders sustainable development, as it leads to the irrational use of natural resources, slows down the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies and creates obstacles to the implementation of international environmental programs. In order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, it is important to create a culture of honesty, responsibility and legality in society.
Such events contribute to the formation of a responsible attitude towards the profession among future environmentalists, the development of legal literacy and an understanding of the importance of an anti-corruption culture in society.
