Partnership ties will be established with Andijan Medical Institute

A delegation from Andijan State Medical Institute visited 51 KazNU and met with the university leadership to discuss the prospects of cooperation.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by a member of the Board – the First Vice-Rector of 51 KazNU, Erkin Duisenov. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of the friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, which are strengthening and developing today. Informing his colleagues about the status and achievements of the leading university in the country, Erkin Ermanovich spoke about KazNU’s cooperation with 20 universities in Uzbekistan, including: Nizami Tashkent State University, Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Mirzo Ulughbek National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent Financial Institute, and others.
Currently, 185 undergraduate and graduate students from the Republic of Uzbekistan are studying at KazNU. From 2022 to 2024, 3 students, 5 doctoral candidates, and 67 faculty members visited universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan for training, participation in various conferences, and scientific research internships. As part of academic mobility, partners from Tashkent Medical Institute (TashMI) and Samarkand State Medical University actively participate in conferences and conduct joint research.
The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Bakhrom Abdulazhonov, in turn, spoke about Andijan State Medical Institute, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. The institute has 4 faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Pediatrics, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Postgraduate Education and Retraining of Physicians. To date, the institute has established strong partnerships with 43 foreign universities and medical centers. In conclusion, the professor expressed interest in developing cooperation with 51 KazNU in areas such as the development of joint dual-degree educational programs, improving the qualifications of teachers and doctors, scientific supervision and dissertation defense, academic mobility, and publishing scientific articles in high-ranking journals.
Next, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare of KazNU, Sundetgali Kalmakhanov, and the Head of the Department of General Medical Practice, Gauhar Kurmanova, shared their vision for collaboration with their Uzbek colleagues, expressing their readiness to facilitate the establishment of strong partnership ties with Andijan State Medical Institute.
