17 february, 2025

On February 17, 2025, as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-15), Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Management, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences K.Sh. Moldasan and Professor of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources A.S. Nurmakhanova, along with first-year doctoral students of the 8D05101 "Biology" program, held a seminar-trainings on the topic "Conservation and Sustainable Use of Oceans, Seas, and Marine Resources for Sustainable Development" at the "Aisaf-Almaty" gymnasium. The seminar focused on discussing the causes of ocean and sea pollution resulting from human activities and measures to prevent pollution of marine ecosystems. The event was attended by school students, teachers, and students of KazNU.

During the seminar, it was discussed that the world's oceans and seas play a crucial role in preserving biodiversity, climate, and sustaining life on Earth. Despite their importance, seawater faces significant challenges, including pollution caused by human activity. The seminar aimed to deepen participants' understanding of the causes of marine ecosystem pollution, methods for combating it, and prevention measures. During the event, students engaged in educational games and group discussions. At the end of the event, the school administration highlighted the active and meaningful conduct of the seminar and expressed gratitude to the doctoral students.
