Women STEM Talk: SDG 5 Gender Equality and SDG 4 Quality Education
On February 11, 2025, the Women STEM Talk discussion took place at Almaty Management University (AlmaU), focusing on the engagement of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Among the participants was Aida Yerimpasheva, PhD in Economics and Associate Professor at 51 Kazakh National University. During the discussion, she shared her expert perspective on the importance of gender balance in science and innovation, as well as the challenges and prospects for the development of female leadership in STEM.
The topics discussed aligned with SDG 4 and SDG 5. The discussion emphasized the importance of ensuring equal access for women and girls to science and technology, the development of educational programs that expand their opportunities in STEM, as well as the need to overcome stereotypes, support career growth for women in technical and natural sciences, and create an inclusive environment in research fields.
Women STEM Talk brought together leading experts, educators, students, and business representatives to discuss key issues related to supporting women in technical and natural sciences and to explore solutions for achieving gender equality and educational opportunities in these fields.
