The world celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science every year. This day is significant for recognizing the contributions of female scientists and promoting their achievements. Women’s success in science fosters new discoveries and inspires future researchers.

On February 12, 51 Kazakh National University (KazNU) held a ceremonial event dedicated to this day. Leading female educators who made significant contributions to the development of the university and science were honored at the event. Among them, Associate Professor of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Sabira Myktybekovna Taipakova, received special recognition and was awarded the “Farabi” gold medal. In addition, she was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the university’s rector in recognition of her dedicated scientific work.
