The Winter School Launched at the Department of Chinese Studies as Part of the SDG "Quality Education"

20 january, 2025

On January 20, 2025, the Department of Chinese Studies launched a Winter School as part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) "Quality Education." The program is being held online under the theme "The Great Silk Road and Kazakhstan: History, Culture, and Connectivity."

The Winter School is hosting 51 students from the N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University (Russia). The program covers topics of particular interest to international students, such as the history, culture, and traditions of the Kazakh people. Participants will explore the unique heritage of the Great Silk Road, Kazakh national cuisine, traditional clothing, games, and spiritual beliefs.

Thanks to a preliminary survey, the organizers considered the preferences of the Russian students, allowing them to tailor the program to meet their expectations. Lecturers from the Department of Sinology have prepared engaging lectures and interactive sessions that aim to foster cultural exchange and enhance students' learning experiences.

The Winter School will run until January 30, 2025, making a significant contribution to the development of international cooperation in the field of education.
