Personal self-defense training

On November 29, 2024, a practical training “Self-defense for the individual” was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science.

 The event implements Sustainable Development Goals 3 “Health and Well-Being”, SDG 5 “Gender Equality” and SDG 10 “Reduced Inequalities”.

The training was attended by students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, the Department of General and Applied Psychology of 51 Kazakh National University.

The training program:

1. The five principles of self-defense.

2. Assessment of the level of potential danger.

3. The ability to say no. Verbal techniques to reduce the aggression of the opponent.

4. The basics of self-defense: stance, release from capture, basic kicks, basic punches.

5. The formula of support.

How to properly support a person who has experienced violence. We thank coach Yulia Akoeva, a psychologist and instructor in women's self-defense. Students learned in practice the principles and techniques of self-defense, how to support and help a person in a situation of violence.
