7 november, 2024

On November 7, 2024,  the 4th-year students of  "6B02303 – Foreign Philology" major  organized an event on the topic: "Protection and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems"   together with their curator E.K. Bekturova within the framework of SDG 15 "Conservation of terrestrial ecosystems". The event focused on the   special emphasis on important sustainable development goals, such as the protection, restoration, and promotion of the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.

To  improve the plantings on the university campus, sanitary tree felling is carried out, along with the planting of young saplings. Park paths are being repaired, and recreational areas are being developed. Tree planting is also taking place to preserve the historical value of the landscape architecture. The university organizes activities to identify and protect plant species listed in the Red Book.

The university implements educational programs and conducts informational and awareness-raising work on sustainable land resource management for agriculture and tourism.

The university has policies related to sustainable development goals, including the conservation of terrestrial ecosystems, ensuring the availability and rational use of water resources and sanitation for all, as well as combating climate change.

The event concluded with an active discussion, where participants shared their ideas and suggestions on how they can contribute to promoting sustainable development and environmental protection in their daily lives.
