
On November 29, 2024, the seminar for the first- and the second-year doctoral students of “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” major was held at the Department of Turkology and Language Theory, within the framework of the "British Centre: Language and Culture". The seminar focused on the role of research in education and was dedicated to exchanging experiences and introducing innovative approaches in dissertation work. The second-year doctoral students made their reports and presentations for the first-year students. Nazereke Rysbekkyzy, in her presentation “AI in Research and TFL”, discussed the role of artificial intelligence in research and foreign language teaching, including tools for data analysis and creating educational materials. Aynur Aliyeva, in her speech "Welcome to my PhD Journey", shared advice on organizing doctoral research, emphasizing the importance of planning, time management, interaction with the academic supervisor, and publications in international journals. Shyrynai Baizakova, in her presentation “AI Tools That You Can Use in Your Research”, introduced AI tools for research, discussing programs for data processing, visualizing results, and managing references. Tolkun Baibosynova introduced the “Action Research” method, explaining how it helps improve the educational process through reflection and the implementation of new ideas. During the seminar, the Jigsaw method was used to discuss Paul J. Silvia’s book "How to Write a Lot". The event became a valuable platform for exchanging experiences, discussing new ideas, and receiving useful advice.
